Description
A healthy and delicious twist on classic chicken tenders, coated with almond flour and cooked in an air fryer for a crispy texture without deep frying.
Ingredients
- Chicken Tenders: 1 lb (about 450 g)
- Almond Flour: 1 cup (about 100 g)
- Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon
- Paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
- Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by rinsing under cold water and patting dry with paper towels.
- In a shallow bowl, combine almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat each chicken tender in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Lightly spray or drizzle the air fryer basket with olive oil, arrange the coated tenders in a single layer, and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) before removing from the air fryer.
- Let the tenders rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use finely ground almond flour for the best results.
- Pat the chicken dry before coating for better adherence.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
- Let the coated tenders sit for a few minutes before cooking to help the coating set.
