A healthy and delicious twist on classic chicken tenders, coated with almond flour and cooked in an air fryer for a crispy texture without deep frying.


Ingredients

  • Chicken Tenders: 1 lb (about 450 g)
  • Almond Flour: 1 cup (about 100 g)
  • Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by rinsing under cold water and patting dry with paper towels.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine almond flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken tender in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray or drizzle the air fryer basket with olive oil, arrange the coated tenders in a single layer, and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) before removing from the air fryer.
  7. Let the tenders rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

  • Use finely ground almond flour for the best results.
  • Pat the chicken dry before coating for better adherence.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
