Butter chicken is a rich and creamy dish made with marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato sauce.

- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, and spices for at least 1 hour.
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onions, garlic, and ginger; sauté until golden.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add cream and salt; cook for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
Notes
- Use bone-in chicken for more flavor.
- Adjust spices to your preference.
