Description

A traditional Hungarian dish featuring chicken simmered in a creamy paprika sauce served with dumplings.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Add chicken pieces and brown on all sides.
  4. Stir in paprika, bell pepper, and tomatoes.
  5. Add chicken broth, season with salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer for 30 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Stir in sour cream before serving.
