- 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Pour buttermilk into another bowl.
- Dip each chicken piece into the buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Place coated chicken pieces on a wire rack and let them rest for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 15 minutes per batch.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the fryer.
- Let the chicken rest before frying for better coating adherence.
