Description

A delicious pecan upside down cake with caramelized pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a round cake pan and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over it.
  3. Arrange pecans on top of the brown sugar.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add milk, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  6. Pour batter over the pecans in the pan.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate.
