Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck steak
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Season the steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the steak in the slow cooker.
  3. Add onion, mushrooms, garlic, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until steak is tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
  6. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the slow cooker about 30 minutes before serving to thicken the gravy.
  7. Serve the steak with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
